about

Noa May has a voice like Jekyll and Hyde. Her breezy lilt can be heard whispering on one side while the monster on the other passionately spits her poetry. May is a Human Rights Lawyer by trade, but more than that she is a traveller, an artist and a poet.

Her new single "Play Me", from the soon to be released album 'New Born Beast', is intriguing and immediate while being a million miles removed from the generic female fronted glossy pop dominating the airwaves.

Growing up in Tel Aviv with a very diverse musical palette encompassing artists such as Pj Harvey, Gill Scott Heron and Led Zeppelin, she began playing the guitar and composing at 12 years of age, before leaving for Melbourne, Australia at 20. It was there where she studied jazz performance and surrounded herself with art and music while forging her unique musical identity.

Five and a half years later she began to study law with a burgeoning interest in human rights, a passion that often shows it’s teeth in her lyrics. Her debut studio album "New Born Beast" follows the Jekyll and Hyde narrative offering 11 tracks of intelligent, immersive and driven music with a twist.
